Motion Lab at MākuSafe

June 4, 2021

MākuSafe’s Chief Data Scientist, Nikhil Agarwal and the software team are continually working to ensure our motion data is comprehensive and accurate. This week, the rest of the team was able to pitch in and help with the process by simulating movements while wearing a MākuSafe wearable safety device. With the goal of further enhancing our ability to recognize potentially hazardous motions, Nik lead the team in gathering the “seed” data needed to build the next generation of deep learning models. During this lab, over 4,000  observations were collected and these observations will be incorporated into our deep learning models. These improved models will know the nuances of each type of motion and more effectively and accurately predict potentially hazardous motions.

In addition to being extremely valuable for deep learning models, having our team doing bends and squats together was a fantastic team building experience. We quickly discovered who the most competitive folks on our team are. Enjoy these photos of our first ever Motion Lab and reach out and talk with us if you are interested in learning more about our industrial safety wearable and EHS software!
