Matt McMullen, DIRECTOR OF HARDWARE PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT

Before joining the MākuSafe® team In Jan. 2019, Matt McMullen held a number of engineering development and leadership positions across multiple industries, with over 17 years of technical experience.

Matt spent the first part of his career working in various roles for one of the world’s largest data storage companies. These roles included Hard Disc Drive and Solid State Drive firmware development, firmware management, product design engineering leadership, and directing a system quality assurance team. In these positions he worked with vendors and internal and external customers to successfully deliver many products to the field. Matt also has experience directing a software development team for one of the world’s largest manufacturers of voting machines.

As Director of Hardware Product Development, Matt is responsible for leading the design, implementation, launch, and support of MākuSafe® hardware and firmware products. This includes leading a team of engineers in the development of MākuSafe® hardware and firmware, working with external contractors, external vendors, and contract manufacturers to successfully deliver and support the company’s products.

Matt and his wife, Mary, live in Omaha, NE with their three children. He enjoys coaching their sports and robotics teams. Matt has a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering degree from Iowa State University and a Master of Science in Computer Engineering degree from University of Minnesota – Twin Cities.
