MākuSafe again selected for NSC Safety Innovation Challenge
March 31, 2026
We’re so proud to share that MākuSafe has once again been selected as a semifinalist in the National Safety Council Work to Zero Safety Innovation Challenge.

This year’s focus is on fatigue, an often overlooked but critical risk factor that impacts judgment, reaction time, and ultimately increases the likelihood of workplace incidents.
Fatigue isn’t just about sleep. It builds through physical effort, repetition, heat, noise, and the pace of work itself. MākuSafe helps make those hidden contributors visible, using wearable technology to measure physical workload, environmental conditions, and frontline insights in real time so organizations can intervene before incidents occur.
We’re honored to be part of this year’s cohort advancing solutions to reduce fatigue-related risk. We’ll present MākuSafe in the Safety Technology Pavilion at the NSC Safety Summit in Baltimore. Conference attendees will vote to determine the top three finalists, who will advance to the Learning Lab before the Summit’s closing keynote session on May 8.
By being selected MākuSafe again becomes an eligible technology for NSC’s grant program.
And we’re especially proud, after being named last year’s winner for our work in heat illness prevention, to continue contributing to the mission of eliminating workplace injuries and fatalities.
