SOFTWARE DEVELOPER

Karla joined the MākuSafe Team in February 2019. She is a U.S. Navy veteran, who served for 5 years (2011-2016) as a Preventative Medicine Technician. Her background in Occupational Health, and managing health and safety programs such as hearing conservation, heat protocol, and general physical safety for the Navy will be an asset to our work at MākuSafe.

Karla has always had a passion for software and coding. She is in her 3rd year of studying Software Development at Western Governor’s University, and among her experiences has attended a coding bootcamp called General Assembly Web Immersive in Los Angeles. Karla belongs to Operation Code, a veteran’s organization for members involved with coding and software, and her web development skills, app building, coding & software development will enable her to contribute immediately to development of MākuSmart, our analytics software platform.

Karla lives in Indianola, Iowa with her partner David, and is originally from Yuma, Arizona which she says is the sunniest city in the world! Karla is excited about the opportunity to work with MākuSafe, and she is driven by our mission. She has a passion for learning & reading, and her happy upbeat attitude makes her a pleasure to be around.
