MākuSafe Announced as Finalist for “Outstanding Startup Company of the Year” by the Technology Association of Iowa
DES MOINES, IOWA (Mar. 15, 2018)—MākuSafe, a Des Moines-based insurance technology company, has been recognized as a Prometheus Award Finalist for the “Outstanding Startup Company of the Year” Award, presented by the Technology Association of Iowa.
MākuSafe technology, which focuses on reducing workplace risk and improving worker health, safety, and productivity, stood out to the Prometheus judging panel (comprised of local, state and regional technology leaders) as “contributing to Iowa’s Technology Community through innovation, development of creative solutions, and demonstration of industry leadership.”
“We’re honored to be recognized as a finalist for this award, as it reflects support of the work we are doing and the innovation that is at the core of work,” said Gabriel Glynn, MākuSafe CEO. “As a growing company, this nomination reinforces our mission and motivates our continuing work.”
The company’s wearable wristband gathers real-time environmental and motion data that is then sent to their cloud platform, MākuSmart. The platform uses machine learning to identify high-risk trends in the facility and acts as a delivery portal for insurance carriers to provide resources to their insured in a proactive manner, based on the data gathered.
Nominations for the awards, presented by the Technology Association of Iowa and LWBJ, were submitted for companies, leaders and communities from across the state. Finalists represent a range of industries including: technology, financial services, insurance, and healthcare.
“We know, firsthand, the challenges involved in translating great ideas into successful realities,” said Dave Hove, CPA and Senior Partner at LWBJ. “We’re excited to honor this year’s outstanding finalists, and the world-class products and services they are bringing to market.”
Award winners will be announced at The Prometheus Awards dinner on Thursday, April 12, 2018.
MākuSafe was formed by a powerful team of software, hardware and data engineers in an effort to prove that workplaces around the globe can be made safer by gathering environmental data around workers WHILE they work. Using analytics and machine learning technology we can turn that data into predictors so that accidents can be stopped before they happen.
